Education & Outreach

Summer Robertson Teaching At SUUSt. George Dance Co. presents lecture demonstrations and outreach programs in public and private schools, corporations, health care facilities, community centers, nursing homes and youth crisis centers. We work with both children and adults and customize our programs to fit your needs.

Our most recent program has been designed for youth crisis centers. Our dancers work with the youth to choreograph a dance about a story from the teen’s own life. This is a healing process for the youth and an amazing experience for our dancers and audience.

We also work with elementary-aged children from a Dalcorze approach teaching rhythm, music and patterns through dance as well as weaving inter-disciplines of math/science topics like shape and numbers.

Our company members are faculty in the schools and studios throughout southern Utah. We will customize and create an educational program that is right for you.

St. George Dance Company’s educational outreach includes:

    • Artist in residence at local colleges and universities
    • Interactive lecture demonstrations in schools
    • Master classes for high schools and adult dancers
    • School assemblies K-12
    • Choreographic workshops
    • Media interviews, pre-performance discussions and post-performance receptions
    • Incorporating local dancers and students into our performances
    • We are also open to any other ideas you may have!
